With serious concerns about the COVID19 virus and the health of our audience, volunteers, and speakers, we are cancelling the March 18th event Land & Climate, People & Plants. The organizers are looking to reschedule–stay tuned for updates.
March 18th is fast approaching and here’s a little update on the event. Check out the event page on this site for the basic details.
There’s been so much interest that we’ve added another room to the space, so the fit may be cozy but not cramped. Seating is on a first-come basic, so don’t be late. The speakers start at 7:30 p.m. and doors open at 7:00. Book sales and literature tables will be available before and after the event.
We’re pleased to welcome King West Books from their new location in Westdale village. Owner Dave Kurik has generously offered to sell our speakers’ books. Daniel Coleman’s Yardwork: A Biography of an Urban Place will be available. So will at least three of Lorraine Johnson’s books, as available: 100 Easy-to-Grow Native Plants (2017 edition); City Farmer: Adventures in Urban Food Growing; and the new”Canadian Gardener’s Guide“. With King West Books on hand you can pay by credit card; you’ll only need cash for the front-door donation jar.
