Garden Day – May 23, 2020

Plant Sale 2020

As you may already know, Garden Day (our annual plant sale and compost/woodchip pickup day) has been postponed to the fall. But we still want to get plants to the people. With the help of technology–and our super volunteers–we are doing an online sale. Here are the bare bones of how it’ll work.
Main features:
– online sales
– prepayment by Interac e-transfer only
– pickup only. No deivery.

Please note: these sales are only for plants that need springtime planting (veggies, herbs, annuals) and for plants that the growers cannot maintain over the summer. Because of the need for social distancing we simply cannot have a huge number of plants for this sale. Perennials, shrubs, trees etc will be available at a sale in the fall, assuming COVID-19 restrictions are eased by then.

The store is here: Quantiites are limited. There’s only a few of us growing and donating plants so it’s first-come first-served.

At checkout you’ll be instructed to send your payment by Interac e-transfer to our club treasurer. All orders are pre-paid only– there will be no cash or cheques exchanged at any time. Sorry, we cannot handle credit card orders.

Saturday May 23 is pickup morning. We will communicate the location by email to everyone who’s made an order.

The “last chance” driveway sale has been cancelled.

Also on May 23 is our “Last Chance” sale, a pay-what-you-may driveway sale of anything that didn’t sell online, and any additional items that didn’t get listed in time. There will be a time limit on browsing to minimize waiting time while we cope with social distancing. Cash only / no change available. Location TBA.

A big “thank you!” goes out to all the volunteers who are growing plants for the sale. During the COVID-19 crisis there’s a huge increase in the number of people putting in gardens. We are glad to make our tried-and-true favourites available to everyone starting out on their gardening journey.
